Balance:- sound quality & price

My other films ive used the mic on the camera as i didnt care too much about the sound. But now i want to have decent sound but at a v.cheap rate. Any advice on what to use (or probably borrow) would be helpful.

Borrow a mini disc from a friend. Even microphones that come free with computers are better than those found on a lot of cameras.
